Description: Can a transportation utility work for you? Avoid the see-saw experience of relying on sales tax and property tax.

Need to get more done with your roads with less money?

Tune in to this enlightening 2-hour audio-web broadcast from your own location to learn how you can stabilize your incoming revenue sources easily to keep your streets and transportation projects in good repair.

Learn the complexities in getting a transportation utility established for your agency.

  • Which expenses can move from the general ledger into a road utility

  • How to get stakeholder buy-in as businesses, residents, and tax exempt organizations will react differently. Find out how to handle these concerns.

  • How the utility cost allocation is tied to your pavement and other asset management systems.

  • How user costs get redistributed. See how actual use and trip generation and not tax status drives this funding alternative.

  • Transportation utility funding is working successfully in many municipalities. In just 2-hours you will find out how.

    Speakers:

Daniel J. Boss, Operations Director, City of Tualatin, OR. Mr. Boss will share how a transportation utility has been working successfully for the City of Tualatin for almost 15 years.

Jeff Mazanec, Principal Engineer, OMNI Associates, APWA Wisconsin Chapter President, Appleton, WI. Mr. Mazanec will present a case study of the Village of North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin transportation utility conversion.
