Jeff Mazanec, Principal Engineer, OMNI Associates, APWA Wisconsin Chapter President, Appleton, WI. Mr. Mazanec will present a case study of the Village of North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin transportation utility conversion.

Daniel Boss
Dan is the Operations Director for the City of Tualatin, Oregon. Dan has been in public works for over 28 years - the last 24 years in Tualatin and, of those, 20 as the Director.
He is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city’s water, sewer, storm, street, parks, and greenway systems, as well as city-wide fleet maintenance, building maintenance, and warehousing functions. He also serves as the city’s Emergency Program Manager.
Dan is a native Oregonian and enjoys taking advantage of living and playing in the Pacific Northwest. He was the founding Chair of the Oregon Technology (T2) Center Advisory Committee. Past President of the Oregon Chapter of the APWA and currently Treasurer of the Chapter’s Scholastic Foundation.
He was presented the Bowes Award from the APWA Oregon Chapter in 2000. This is the highest award the chapter can give a member. The Oregon Chapter nominated Dan for the APWA Top Ten Public Works Leaders award program this year.
The Department was named a “2001 Most Valuable Partner” by the Business Education Compact of Oregon and received the Small Business Achievement Award for outstanding commitment to programs that support education. Tualatin is the only government agency to ever receive this award.
Dan was the lead staff person on the Road Utility project for Tualatin in 1990.

Jeff Mazanec
Jeff is a Principal Engineer with OMNNI Associates in Appleton, Wisconsin. As a consultant since 1978, he has provided professional services to many municipalities on a broad range of issues and projects, including development of rate models and charges for wastewater systems, solid waste and recycling programs. He is currently Wisconsin’s APWA Chapter President and serves in leadership roles for several professional organizations. Jeff is currently working with the Village of North Fond du Lac, WI, to develop a transportation utility for potential implementation in January of 2004.
