| Description: |
Don’t get caught unprepared, know your resources! This program will highlight setting priorities in the midst of a disaster, establishing an Incident Command System (ICS), coordinating and tracking resources, arranging and enacting mutual aid agreements, and dealing with requests for resources through the use of Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).
This program has been approved for .2 CEUs or 2 PDHs. The form to request these credits is included in the handouts for this program. |

Keith Watson
Assistant Public Works Director Village of Bartlett, IL
Keith Watson has been the Assistant Public Works Director for Bartlett, Illinois for 13 years, and has over 30 years experience in public works. Keith is currently Chairman of the DuPage County Public Works Mutual Aid (PWMA) Steering Committee. DuPage PWMA works with the County Office of Emergency Management to coordinate the response efforts of over 40 public works agencies. The DuPage PWMA Plan was recognized in 2006 by the Urban Innovations in Illinois Project.

Jonathan Gano, P.E.
Superintendent of Streets City of Springfield, MO
Jonathan Gano serves as the Superintendent of Streets responsible for all street maintenance activities, including the maintenance and repair of the traveled way, bridges, and waterways, and inspection of all new public improvements in new development related to streets and drainage. He has served the City of Springfield since May 2004. Prior to working for the City, Gano served as an engineer officer in the United States Army for 8 years, where his duties took him to 10 different states and 9 different countries. He is credited with pioneering the introduction of explosive and non-explosive breaching in the urban environment into combat engineer training. Gano holds a master of science degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in engineering management and a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy. He is a professional engineer registered in the state of Missouri since 2001.

Ron Ribaric
Assistant Project Manager Orange County, FL
Ronald F. Ribaric is an Assistant Project Manager with the Roads and Drainage Division of Orange County Public Works Department. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He is responsible for all ESF 3 Emergency Operations for the Public Works Department. Ron has been involved in Emergency Management for the past 12 years. He has experienced a variety of disasters including three hurricanes within four months in 2002 and serves on a number of committees relating to Emergency Operations for the County. He serves as the Emergency Management Committee Chairperson for the Florida Chapter of the American Public Works Association. Ron also holds current certificate as a Florida Professional Emergency Manager from the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association and is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers.

Joyce Flinn
Operations Officer and Duty Officer Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management
Joyce Flinn serves as an Operations Officer and Duty Officer in the Readiness/Response Bureau at Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division. Her key job responsibilities include the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), Iowa Disaster Human Resource Council, Citizen Corps and the Iowa Mutual Aid Compact (IMAC).
Ms. Flinn’s EMAC duties include serving as a designated contact for Iowa, and she is a member of the Executive Task Force and Lead State Representative for FEMA Region VII.
