| Description: |
There are several “green” pavement options that have been developed over the years, and some that are just emerging.
This presentation will discuss 8 green construction alternatives through construction methodologies and material selection that will help you save energy, reduce emissions, reduce extraction of natural resources, save time and money, and provide a better life-cycle project. Green alternatives that will be discussed include:
1. FDR – Full Depth Reclamation 2. Rubblization – Concrete Pavement 3. HIPR – Hot In-Place Recycling 4. RAP – Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement 5. RAS – Reclaimed Asphalt Shingles 6. Foundry Sand & Slag 7. Tire Derived Rubber 8. Warm Mix Asphalt
After viewing this program participants will be better able to: 1. Make decisions on construction methodologies and materials selection for their upcoming transportation projects. 2. Identify how pervious/permeable pavements can be utilized as both a stormwater and infrastructure facility. 3. Obtain an understanding of how pervious/permeable pavements can be used within their community.
