Description: Maximize your success using innovative funding techniques like non-traditional sources of revenue, financing mechanisms designed to leverage resources, funds management techniques, and institutional arrangements as an alternative to traditional, grant-based funding.

*Examine the City of Loveland, Colorado’s experience with their “street fee” program, its benefits and challenges, and how the fee is calculated.

*The City of Brownswood, Texas has a variety of revenue streams. Evaluate the feasibility of alternative funding sources such as antenna rental, agricultural and hunting leases, and sales taxes.

*Other cities have had success in receiving grant funding to support projects. This program will describe the components of a fundable project and give you tips for how to complete an application that contains the six attributes that funding organizations look for in a grant proposal. Grants can play an important role in any capital fundraising campaign and our experts will describe strategies that public works agencies can take to find money for difficult-to-fund construction projects.

This program has been approved for .2 CEUs or 2 PDHs. The form to request these credits is included in the handouts for this program.
