Description: On August 10, 2005, the Safe, Accountable, Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act - A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) was signed into law by President Bush. SAFETEA-LU provides a 30 percent increase in funding over its predecessor, TEA-21; includes a new core safety program; increases state minimum return on gasoline taxes paid to the highway trust fund from 90.5 percent to 92 percent; and assures each state at least a 19 percent increase in funding over TEA-21.

What impact will this have on you and your agency? Tune in on October 6 to hear from leading experts from the Federal Highway Administration who will discuss the following crucial elements:

• An overview of what's in the act and what's new and what's changed from TEA-21
• Infrastructure
• Safety
• Operations and ITS
• Planning and Environment
• Transit and Local Communities
• Finance and Funding Process
• Innovative Financing
