American Public Works Association and Its Predecessor Organizations

The American Public Works Association was formed by the consolidation, in 1937, of the American Society of Municipal Engineers, (formerly the American Society for Municipal Improvements, which was founded in 1894), and the International Association of Public Works Officials (formerly the International Association of Street Sanitation Officials, which was founded in 1920). The Past Presidents of these and the present organization are listed here. Click on the appropriate time span to view the list.
