APWA House of Delegates

The House of Delegates is comprised of one delegate from each of the 64 APWA chapters. The chapter delegate acts as a liaison between the chapter, their regional director and the APWA Board of Directors in its implementation of the Association’s strategic plan. The delegate serves as a voice in sharing the opinions and ideas of the chapter while also serving as point on contact at the local (chapter and branch), regional and association-wide levels through dissemination of information to and from members.

In addition to participation at the chapter executive committee level, the delegate represents the chapter in attending an annual spring regional meeting and the annual House of Delegates meeting. Additional meetings by means of conference calls may be scheduled throughout the year.

The House of Delegates is called upon by the APWA Board of Directors to serve in an advisory role through active discussion and recommendations to assigned annual “Think Tank” topics.

Each chapter’s executive committee through the process outlined in its bylaws shall either elect or designate the delegate and determine the length of term of service.

The House of Delegates is governed by a three-member executive committee, selected by a nominating committee and elected the House of Delegates annual meeting held in conjunction with the APWA Congress.
